The gardens of Agriturismo Cà de Runde

Gifts of nature

Agriturismo Cà de Runde is surrounded by several gardens and has a few more gardens on different locations in Ospedaletti, covering a surface of nearly 20.000 m2.

As a professional in agriculture, Piero makes sure Cà de Runde is blooming all year round. You will find fresh flowers, fruit, vegetables and herbs all over the place.

Pick your own

Feel free to enter the gardens and gather all you need for your breakfast, lunch, dinner or a nice picnic.

Gardens surrounding the house

In the gardens close around the house you will find seasonal fruit, vegetables and herbs. There is also a garden which Piero uses to experiment with new varieties, rare crops and exotics. Ever tasted Black Sapote (a.k.a. the chocolate pudding plant), Guava Rossa (strawberry guava) or Syzygium (myrtle)? You can ask Piero all about these extraordinary products.

Gardens on a distance

On the more remote locations there are gardens full of olive trees. Our part of the Riviera dei Fiori is known for its famous Taggiasca olives and some of the world’s best olive oil. The olives owe their name to the town of Taggia (just 15 km from our agriturismo), where monks have introduced this special variety.

After several trial seasons, in which Piero surprised his guests with a weird fruit with a soft, mushy dark chocolate-like pulp, he is now growing Black Sapote on a larger scale in several remote gardens. Lucky guests staying at Cà de Runde from August to January, can taste this healthy chocolate bomb. Super delicious spread on a slice of bread or just grab a spoon and scoop away!

Also on a (safe) distance: local beekeepers Andrea and Michela of N1 NumeroUno Miele & Delizie, have set up their beehives in one of the remote gardens. What better place than at the Riviera of Flowers, for the bees to collect nectar! You can taste the result of their hard work - the home-made honey - in the agriturismo.

Ask Piero for products on sale, to take home some jars of honey after your stay.

  • Wildflower honey, with a thousand flavours of the Mediterranean flora
  • Honeydew honey, with the taste and aromas of the Ligurian hinterland
  • Gourmet honeys, mixing Ligurian flavours with flavours of Piemonte and Puglia: Nocciomiele, Cioccomiele, honey and hazelnuts, walnuts or almonds.

For true foodies N1 NumeroUno Miele & Delizie can offer various workshops upon request.
